Home: Welcome

Originally from Hertfordshire, I am a violinist and teacher based in Redruth, Cornwall. I am classically trained, with a performance diploma (DipABSRM). I have considerable experience of quartet, chamber and orchestral playing, in London, the UK and America. I did a BA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, and an MA (Fine Art) at Falmouth University.)

I teach violin and viola at schools in Cornwall and privately at home.

I provide music for weddings, birthday parties, events and other occasions. I collaborate with a harpist (Sea Strings Duo), a cellist, a violinist and a string quartet and other combinations.

I have been part of the Bowie Lounge collective. (Musicians, actors and artists including a ballet dancer and a photographer.) We  have performed in Cornwall and Devon since 2013.

I come from a musical family. My mother is a flautist and flute teacher and my father is a retired solicitor, composer and clarinettist. My brother is a drummer.

"Juliet is a great musician with a real passion for playing all types of music, from Bach to Bowie."

Andrew (musician)

"Juliet and her quartet played wonderfully for us at our wedding.  They really added to the atmosphere on our special day.  Firstly, as a violin and cello duo at the chapel that we got married at and then as a string quartet at Nancarrow Farm, Cornwall, during our drinks reception.  So many of our guests commented on how lovely their playing was.  We wanted our entrance music to be a track from Beauty and the Beast and Juliet beautifully arranged this for us.  She was also able to suggest a good selection of other pieces to play during the rest of the wedding service (we went out to ‘All You Need Is Love’) and more general light classical music for the drinks reception.  Juliet got back to us on any queries/emails very promptly and worked really hard to achieve what we wanted.  She also met us at the venue to plan where the group would be positioned and to agree timings of the day.  I would thoroughly recommend Juliet and her group to be a part of your special day!"

James and Ruth

"Juliet’s beautiful violin playing was a really wonderful addition to our wedding ceremony and reception. She was so generous and thoughtful in making sure the choice of music complemented the atmosphere we were looking for and the sound of strings resonating through the venues brought a very special feel to the day."

Kirsty and Tim

"We had Juliet and Alice play for us at our wedding at Nancarrow Farm. I cannot recommend them enough. Juliet was a pleasure to communicate with and honestly went above and beyond to make sure their set was perfect for our day. I had no experience of booking a musician and had a rough idea of what I wanted but needed someone to guide me and Juliet did exactly that. Nothing was a problem. On the day they were perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for, from the guests arriving, to my entrance, us leaving as husband and wife and the perfect set whilst guests enjoyed the afternoon sunshine, canapés and welcome drinks. We cannot thank Juliet and Alice enough! 100% recommendation from us!"

Holly and Chris

Teaching and Guidance

"Juliet is a fantastic teacher with a calm and friendly attitude. My daughter has enjoyed lessons with Juliet since the very first one more than 4 years ago."

"Juliet is an inspiring teacher. Her approach to teaching my 9 year old violin has helped my daughter grow in confidence and skill. A gentle and nurturing approach that really works!"
